Why Non-woven Geo-textile Demand Is Rising in South Asia
Asia Pacific holds the largest share of the global geo-textile market, and river training work in Bangladesh is a major driver.

Non-woven geo-textile has moved from a specialist product to a standard line item in road, railway and embankment work. Asia Pacific now accounts for roughly 40% of the global market, the largest regional share.
For Bangladesh the driver is water. Erosion control and river training consume large volumes of geo bags, and locally produced fabric shortens lead times materially compared with imports.
A needle punching line converting PP and PSF fibre at 1 ton per hour, about 24 tons per day, covers a meaningful share of regional demand. Fibre weight between 120 and 800 GSM lets one line serve drainage, separation, filtration and reinforcement applications without retooling.
The commercial case rests on three points: import substitution, shorter delivery windows for contractors, and the ability to certify fabric properties locally for tender submissions.
